Haarjäger Guide

How do I find the right hair for me?

Experienced natural hair piece buyers know how to find the right hair for themselves, but for those who don't know, below are tips on what to look for when choosing the right color and hair type.

Step 1

Go to your hairdresser and ask for the color chart.

Every hairdresser has a color chart like this and will then determine your color with you. Wella has developed its own universal numbering system that is standardized for all of our color products.

Each number in this system is divided by a slash. The number before the slash indicates the depth of color (how light or dark the hair is). The number after the slash indicates the visible color. When you get your hair colored, you may hear your colorist mention different numbers. The tables below explain what each number means and how to combine them to create the perfect tone.

In this picture you can see the system for numbering the color depth.

Here, the system for numbering the color shade is shown, including the assignment of depth and tone to a specific color number.

So, when selecting hair from us, make sure to check your color chart specification.
